Melissa Mmoloke

Melissa Mmoloke can often be found making rounds on the Track training for races. Since becoming a member last year, Melissa has successfully completed two half marathons, including the most recent Bluenose Half Marathon. With no signs of stopping, she's already training for her next race, the PEI Half Marathon, this fall! Melissa also enjoys group fitness classes and the motivating environment they create.

  • Where is your hometown?
"I was born in Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland but have called Halifax home for the last 20+ years."
  • What do you like about the CGC?
"I love the vibe and the fact that it is a family friendly facility with lots to do."
  • What motivates you to maintain an active lifestyle/why is fitness so important to you?
"I want to be healthy, fit and strong, and be a good role model for my daughters."

    • What do you like to do in your spare time?
    "I love running (not in the winter)."
    • What is your favourite workout routine/where in the CGC will we find you?
    "I enjoy running on the Track, and the fitness classes. I find the group atmosphere to be the most motivating!"

    "Donair!"

    "Apple with peanut butter."
    • What is your favourite movie/book/TV show?
    "I like watching 90 Day Fiancé on TLC. It's my Sunday wind-down routine."

    • What is your current workout goal or accomplishment since starting at the CGC?
    "Since joining CGC, I ran two half marathons, and I am training to do another one in October."

    "It's an inclusive environment where everyone can find their place to be fit and happy!"
