The individual, who was not showing symptoms at the time, is connected to our After School Program and was present in the facility on Monday, April 19th (2:45pm-6:00pm) and Wednesday, April 21st (3pm-5:45pm). The individual followed all Public Health and CGC protocols, including wearing a mask at all times. Public Health is in the process of contacting anyone considered to be a close contact. If you are not contacted by Public Health directly, your risk of exposure is considered low.

There is no known exposure to anyone who attended the facility outside of the specified dates and time blocks at this time.

What You Should Do

If you are considered a close contact, Public Health will contact you with further instructions.

If you are not contacted by Public Health, while low risk, anyone who visited or worked at the facility on the specified dates and times is still encouraged to visit covid-self-assessment.novascotia.ca to book a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether or not they have COVID-19 symptoms. If you do not have online access, you can call 811.

Actions We’ve Taken

In addition to the ongoing disinfecting during and in between time slots, the CGC also performs a deep clean of all areas overnight. We also address all high-touch surface areas throughout the facility, including handrails and door handles, using disinfectant sprayers for full coverage.

In addition to posting this information to our website, we are emailing our members directly as well as any non-members who booked activities during the specified date and times. We are also posting notices our social media feeds.

The CGC is currently closed for four weeks as per the latest Public Health restrictions announced on April 22nd for the Central Zone. We wish the individual well and a speedy recovery. Stay safe everyone and thank you for doing your part.
