Manulife Purchases Naming Rights to Canada Games Centre

February 25, 2026

Our Story Continues

For almost 15 years, you’ve helped us grow the Canada Games Centre into a welcoming, active community space. We’re grateful for your continued support and commitment to building a healthier, happier community with us.

HRM has entered into a 10-year naming rights partnership with Manulife. We are excited to now welcome members and guests to the Manulife Recreation Centre.

What’s important to know:

  • We continue to operate as a non-profit society, and an HRM-owned facility
  • Our programs, memberships, and services will not change
  • Our mission to support healthy, active living for everyone stays the same

This partnership with Manulife will allow us to build on that mission. Manulife shares our belief that health and wellness are essential to a thriving community, and this collaboration will strengthen the programs and services you already value and allow future capital investments into the Centre.

You’ll start to see branding changes in and around our Centre starting mid-May. Our digital footprint will also be changing:

  • Week of June 1: Our new website will be searchable at manuliferecreationcentre.ca
  • Week of June 1: We will be using new email addresses. All contacts will be updated on our website
  • Week of June 1: Social media channels will be searchable at @manuliferecreationcentre
  • March-June (Exact Dates TBD): Transition in MyREC from Canada Games Centre to Manulife Recreation Centre will be done over the course of a few months. All programs, classes and courts will be booked under Manulife Recreation Centre from there onward

We appreciate the memories and sense of community the Canada Games Centre has created over the past 15 years. As we continue our commitment to healthy active living through a partnership with Manulife, we know that our community will continue to embody our values, and we will continue to create new memories and build a healthier community.
