  • The EMO Evacuation Shelter is now closed and the CGC will reopen for regular hours and activities on Monday, June 5th.
  • In the meantime, EMO has set up a comfort centre at the CGC from 12pm-9pm on Saturday, June 3rd. For more information on the comfort centre, please visit or call 311.

A big THANK YOU to the Canadian Red Cross, Salvation Army, Disaster Animal Response Team of Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Health, Joint Emergency Management Team, St. John Ambulance and the many other agencies and volunteers that helped set up shelter and provide services at the CGC for individuals, families, and pets that were displaced by the wildfires.
