CGC Reopening for Regular Activities June 5th
EMO Evacuation Shelter Update

Thank you for your patience and kindness over the past week! Here is the latest update at the CGC in relation to the fires in Tantallon and area:
- The EMO Evacuation Shelter is now closed and the CGC will reopen for regular hours and activities on Monday, June 5th.
- In the meantime, EMO has set up a comfort centre at the CGC from 12pm-9pm on Saturday, June 3rd. For more information on the comfort centre, please visit halifax.ca or call 311.
A big THANK YOU to the Canadian Red Cross, Salvation Army, Disaster Animal Response Team of Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Health, Joint Emergency Management Team, St. John Ambulance and the many other agencies and volunteers that helped set up shelter and provide services at the CGC for individuals, families, and pets that were displaced by the wildfires. The CGC is proud to support the community in a variety of ways.
And a very big THANK YOU to all the firefighters and first responders for all they do to keep us safe.
