New Canadian Try It Day
Celebrating "June is Recreation Month"

On June 4th and in celebration of Recreation Nova Scotia’s June is Recreation Month, the Canada Games Centre welcomed 80 participants new to Canada to take part in a Try It Day event. This initiative, in partnership with Sport Nova Scotia, Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS) and the YMCA, offered kids and adults alike the opportunity to try a variety of sports and activities.
The Aquatics Centre was a big hit as CGC lifeguards and swim instructors helped families learn to be safe in and around the water. On dry land in the Field House and up on the Track, energetic participants took turns challenging their coordination, balance and agility through a Physical Literacy obstacle course, a Zumba Kids class, and a Nordic Pole walking exercise.
It was a great afternoon of fun, laughter, and smiles as we all moved together. Thank you to all who joined us!
