Position Summary

Reporting to the Finance Manager, Finance & Administrative Assistant supports the organization by providing administrative, accounting, and other support services required to provide excellent customer service experience. This position is responsible for assisting with various accounting and administrative duties, it also provides a key administrative support service for the General Manager and Volunteer Board of Directors and its committees.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts payable and receivable processing
  • Preparation of daily cash reports
  • Installment billing processing
  • Coordinating the Office of the General Manager and Finance Manager through preparing agendas, minutes and attending various meetings, preparing reports and visual aids; managing all correspondence and drafting general replies for signature
  • Perform confidential HR duties as assigned by HR
  • Undertaking other duties or special projects as assigned by the GM relevant to the development of the goals and objectives of the Centre and the position
  • General administrative support (filing, maintaining records, etc.)
  • Assisting with other accounting duties as required
  • Other miscellaneous tasks and responsibilities as required

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Experience working with accounting software packages, Sage 300 is an asset
  • Post-secondary business degree or diploma in Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline is an asset
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar, versatile support role
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal, written and oral skills
  • Proficiency with MS Excel
  • General working knowledge of accounting procedures and practices
  • Time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions

  • This position requires full-time work, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30 pm
  • Working environment includes physical, emotional, and mental demands on infrequent occasion
  • Safe use of all protective and barrier equipment is required by the employer
  • Exposure to loud noises and ability to concentrate in a busy environment

Compensation

Salary will be based on a range from $35,000–$48,000, with a starting pay range of $35,000-$40,000, commensurate with education and level of experience.
