Featuring special guests The Halifax Trombone Summit.
The Halifax Trombone Summit is a powerhouse jazz ensemble of eight of Halifax’s finest trombone professionals backed by a top-notch rhythm section of piano, bass and drums. Ensemble will feature Danny Martin, Simon Oakey, Andrew Jackson, Eric Landry, Dave Staples, Martha Kelly, Eric Mathis and Bob Nicholson on trombone with Tom Roach on drums, Ridley Vinson on piano and Jamie Gatti on bass.
Enjoy the music of such trombone greats as J.J Johnson, Kai Winding, Jiggs Wigham and Alastair Kay! The group has performed to full houses at Stayner’s Wharf, the Halifax Jazz Festival, the JazzEast New Standards Series, the Atlantic Festival of Music, the PEI Jazz and Blues Festival and the Halifax Public Gardens Summer Series with a sound that is altogether unique, powerful and exciting.
