CISL School Supply Drive
Aug 21–23, 2015
210 Thomas Raddall Drive, Halifax NS, Unit #2 (BMO Soccer Centre)
Every year, Capital Inter-District Soccer League (CISL) tries to calm the stress of getting back to school ready by donating backpacks filled with school supplies—pencil cases, three ring binders, notebooks—to children in need through the Salvation Army’s Backpacks for Kids program. However the need is greater than what the CISL can support alone.
As our contribution, CISL hosts the Jamboree and Challenge Cup tournaments the second last weekend in August – at the end of the soccer season (August 21-23, 2015). There is no registration fee for CISL league teams to enter this final tournament; however we ask for donations of backpacks filled with school supplies – or money donations – for children in need for the following school year. During a break in play (around 1pm each day) we will hold an opportunity for snacks and gathering donations.
We also ask that anyone in the community wishing to help us gather as many school supplies as possible, to please bring donations to the CISL offices at 210 Thomas Raddall Drive in Halifax, Nova Scotia (next building up from Canada Games Centre) any time before Aug. 25, 2015
