motionball Marathon of Sport Halifax

motionball is a national non-profit that empowers young Canadians to be leaders in their communities, raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics through integrated social and sporting events. motionball Halifax is working to ensure that individuals with intellectual disabilities living in Halifax are included, supported, and celebrated.
Join motionball on Sunday, October 1st, 2023 in the full Field House and on the full Track for a fun-filled day of athletic competition amongst your family, friends, and colleagues as you play alongside local Special Olympics athletes from our community!
This event will take place:
- 7am-4pm | Full Field House & Track*
*Includes event set up and tear down times in the Field House and on the Track.
Marathon of Sport brings athletes of all abilities together on the playing field. Teams of up to 10 will be joined by 1-2 local Special Olympics athletes and together they will participate in a variety of sports and activities all while raising funds and awareness in support of the Special Olympics Canada Foundation.
While fundraising is one of the goals, Marathon of Sport is about so much more. This day not only brings awareness to the Special Olympics movement, but allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to interact, build lifelong friendships, and ultimately create more inclusive communities.

The Track will be closed during this event from 7am-4pm (and equipment on the Track will not be available to use).
