Your safety is important to us. To ensure it, the Fitness Centre team reserves the right to deny access to persons failing to follow any of the posted safety standards. The Centre wants to provide members and guests with a clean, safe and enjoyable place to exercise.
Fitness Centre Safety Standards
- Members and One Month Pass holders must be at least 14 years old and guests 18 years old to use the Fitness Centre.
- Members must swipe their card at the main gate at the Fitness Centre desk before working out.
- Please wipe down all equipment after each use.
- Wear appropriate exercise attire. Casual clothing is not allowed. No jeans, jean shorts, or any article of clothing with zippers or rivets. No open-toed shoes, open-backed shoes, boots, sandals, or casual shoes are allowed. Failure to dress properly will result in denial of workout.
- Camera/video devices may be used in the area provided it is for personal use only, does not disrupt the activity of others, and is in accordance with the User Code of Conduct and posted safety standards. Please be respectful of others: avoid capturing others in the background of photos, and make phone calls/send texts in the hallways.
- Recording equipment such as tripods, external lights, and other professional filming gear is not permitted.
- Written permission from the Centre is required prior to capturing any images or video for professional or commercial use within the facility.
- Disrupting or interfering with the workout of another user will not be tolerated. Profanity or excessive grunting is not allowed.
- Use proper personal hygiene by showering regularly, wearing clean clothing and using deodorant.
- Bags, coats or personal items are not allowed in the Fitness Centre, group exercise classes, fitness studios or the Dance Studio. Valuables should be secured in lockers. You must bring your own lock and remove it at the end of your workout.
- No food or beverages permitted outside of water.
- Weight plates are not to be leaned against equipment stands, walls or machines. Please replace weights after use.
- Dumbbells and weight plates cannot be dropped on floor for any reason.
- Only Fitness Centre Personal Trainers and Staff are allowed to provide instruction on exercise technique or equipment preparation and adjustments. No outside Personal Training permitted.
- Fitness Centre users should report all equipment malfunctions, personal injuries and specific concerns immediately to the desk attendant.
- No use of chalk, other powders or scents.
- Users are not permitted to bring their own equipment into the Fitness Centre.
- Users who participate in activity at the Centre will be doing so at their own risk. The Centre is not responsible for any injury that may occur to individuals participating in any exercise activity. Participation in exercise activity is on a voluntary basis.
- Our User Code of Conduct is to be followed by all users. Horseplay, profanity, racist, or sexist comments will not be tolerated. Any individual displaying these types of behaviour will be asked to leave immediately and may be subject to suspension.
- All users are to comply with Fitness Centre employees directives regarding enforcement of policies related to safety, programming, and exercise techniques.

Drop-In Fitness Class Safety Standards
- All drop-in classes are free to members or covered by day pass fees and available to ages 12 years of age or older.
- All fitness classes are 45-60 minutes unless otherwise noted on the schedule. Late entry to Yoga classes will not be permitted.
- We highly recommend that participants stay for the entire class to get the full benefit of the class.
- All equipment must remain in the class area and must be returned to its proper location after use. Equipment from other areas may not be brought in, unless otherwise instructed.
- Only non-marking athletic shoes are permitted in the classes.
- All participants are encouraged to bring a towel and water bottle and leave personal items locked up in the change rooms.
- Participants in drop-in fitness at the Canada Games Centre will be doing so at their own risk. The Canada Games Centre is not responsible for any injury that may occur to individuals participating in any exercise activity. Participation in exercise activity is on a voluntary basis.
Drop-In Spin Class Safety Standards
- For the comfort of you and your fellow members, please bring and use a towel during your class.
- Only clean, indoor shoes permitted in the spin area.
- No cell phones permitted during spin class. If it is necessary to be reached for some reason, please leave your device and any instructions with our Fitness Desk staff.
- Coats, bags, personal items are not permitted in the spin area. Please leave these items locked up in the change rooms.
- Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class begins to set up your bike. Arriving late to class may result in your spot being offered to a waitlist participant.
- Please clean your bike when your class is finished.
