At the Canada Games Centre we are always looking for ways to help Nova Scotians become more active and develop lifelong healthy habits. By partnering with businesses, sports organizations and government initiatives, we are able to provide financial support to those that would otherwise not be able to participate in physical activity without assistance.
Current funding options include:
- Aquatics and Recreation (includes Summer Camps) funding through Jumpstart
- CGC Membership Fee Assistance Program
About Jumpstart
Founded in 2005, Jumpstart helps kids overcome financial and accessibility barriers to sport and recreation in an effort to provide inclusive play for kids of all abilities. Jumpstart is more than just about getting kids active. It’s about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate as their neighbours, their classmates and their friends. Whether it’s the chance to try a new sport or to continue with a favourite one, no kid should be left out.
How to apply:
To apply for Jumpstart funding, please click here and complete the application process online.
What happens after I apply?
- If your application is approved, you will receive an email or letter from Jumpstart informing you of the details of your funding. You will not receive a cheque, but it will be sent directly to the Canada Games Centre.
- After receiving your approval email/letter from Jumpstart, you’ll still need to register for the Aquatics or Recreation program at the Canada Games Centre. Please bring a copy of your approval email/letter with you at time of registration.
